Early intervention for certain diseases and illnesses can be lifesaving for dogs. However, because warning signs are often subtle, it’s often difficult to detect them in the early stages. Monitoring your dog’s health also usually involves a lot of observation and guesswork because dogs can’t verbally tell us how they’re feeling.

In many ways, the PetPace Health 2.0 smart collar acts like a voice for your dog’s physical well-being. It’s wearable technology that’s designed to monitor your dog’s health and alert you of any subtle changes in your dog that you might’ve missed. The collar pairs with a phone app so that you can check on your dog’s health whenever you want.

As the owner of an older dog, I was very interested in learning more about the PetPace Health 2.0 smart collar. My Cavapoo Nora is currently 9.5 years old, and although she’s relatively healthy, I have noticed her slow down in recent years. So, I was particularly keen on the collar’s ability to track and measure pain scores.

After testing out the collar, I’d say we had an overall positive experience. I faced some minor inconveniences. However, I’d still recommend the PetPace Health 2.0 smart collar for many dog owners because of the invaluable health information it provides.

Using this collar is an investment, as you must subscribe to a subscription plan that renews annually. This review is here to help you make an informed purchase. Keep reading to determine if the PetPace Health 2.0 smart collar is the right collar for your dog.

PetPace Smart Dog Collar - nora lying behind the product

The PetPace Health 2.0 smart collar has many features that provide useful information about your dog’s health. Here’s an overview of what you can expect from this collar.

Pricing

When purchasing a PetPace Health 2.0 smart collar, you’ll have to consider the price of the collar as well as paying for a subscription for the accompanying phone app. The collar is $119, but you can get a free collar if you sign up for a 2-year or 3-year subscription.

The 2-year subscription is $15 a month, while the 3-year subscription is $12 a month. You can also sign up for a 1-year subscription, which is $15 a month, but you’ll also have to pay separately for the collar.  PetPace bills annually for their subscriptions.

What to Expect

The PetPace Health 2.0 smart collar comes in three sizes: small, medium, and large. You can determine the correct size for your dog by measuring their neck circumference. Once you purchase a smart collar and a subscription plan, PetPace will ship the collar to you.

You must download the PetPace phone app and create an account profile to use the collar. Once you pair the collar with your profile, you can fit the collar around your dog’s neck. The collar will start gathering health data automatically.

Some basic information, like your dog’s heart rate and body temperature, will appear in several minutes. You can also view weekly reports that track various activities, including sleep quality, physical exercise, and calories burned.

The collar has a 12-week learning period and will gather more detailed health information during this time. In 50 days, you can view your dog’s basic health profile. The collar can also provide information on pain levels in 70 days. By the end of the 12 weeks, the collar will have accumulated enough data to provide a comprehensive report on your dog’s overall wellness.

Contents

The PetPace Health 2.0 smart collar has a simple design and is easy to use. Each collar comes with a charging cable and Quick Start Guide. Boxes shipped within the US also contain a power adapter.

To use the collar, all you need do is adjust the collar length to fit around your dog’s neck comfortably. There’s no need to trim or shave down your dog’s hair for the collar to work. It will start tracking data on its own.

When fully charged, the collar’s battery can last up to 3 weeks. A WiFi connection is the most energy-efficient option for the battery, as it drains a little more quickly when the collar resorts to using cellular data. PetPace will send notifications to alert you when the collar battery is running low or has shut off. It takes about 2 hours for a drained battery to charge completely.

Health Tracking and Disease Management

The PetPace Health 2.0 smart collar is an excellent tool for tracking your dog’s health. Its main health targets are disease management, arthritis, seizures, epilepsy, and respiratory disease.

The collar uses AI technology to improve disease detection and aid in disease management for various chronic illnesses, including heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. It also detects pain levels, behavioral changes, posture, heart rate variability (HRV), and other physiological metrics that help you track your dog’s recovery progress and if they’re on an effective treatment plan.

Multiple Wireless Connection Options

The PetPace Health 2.0 smart collar is able to track your dog’s health data consistently and without interruption due to its multiple wireless connection options. The collar can connect to WiFi, Bluetooth, and cellular data.

The collar can connect to up to five different WiFi networks and will connect automatically when it detects a known network. It also has a global eSim embedded inside, and it’ll revert to using cellular data automatically when your dog steps into an area without a recognized WiFi network. No additional subscriptions, fees, or activation are required for the collar’s cellular data.

Along with tracking physical exercise and movement data, the PetPace 2.0 smart collar’s GPS tracker can help you locate lost dogs. It has a map feature that periodically documents your dog’s location. It also has a “Find My Pet” mode that will provide your dog’s most recent location to help you find your dog as quickly as possible.

Durability

The collar is made with durable materials and is designed to keep up with active dogs. It’s waterproof and can stay submerged under 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes. It’s also dirt and dust-proof, and all you have to do is rinse it with fresh water to remove any dirt stains.

Is PetPace 2.0 Smart Collar a Good Value?

You can find a decent variety of smart collars for dogs, but most of them only have GPS trackers or can only track very basic health information. The PetPace 2.0 smart collar is a unique collar with some of the most advanced health-tracking capabilities that you’ll find in today’s market.

Considering the fact that the price of the collar and subscription plans tend to be marginally higher than its competitors, the PetPace Health 2.0 smart collar is a good value. It has the potential to be an invaluable health tool for dogs with chronic health issues, as its advanced technology can help track treatment progress and changes in your dog’s health and behavior.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is there a warranty that comes with the PetPace 2.0 smart collar?

All PetPace collars come with a 1-year warranty. You can contact PetPace’s customer support to report any product defects or issues you’re experiencing with your collar.

Can I hook a leash to the collar?

The PetPace Health 2.0 smart collar has to be worn separately from your dog’s regular collar, and it doesn’t have a hook for a leash or ID tag. A leash cannot be hooked onto the collar because pulling and tugging can disrupt or skew the accuracy of the collar’s data collection. This arrangement can feel a little bulky, your dog may need a little extra time to adjust to wearing the collar.

What types of sensors does the collar have?

The collar has multiple sensors to track your dog’s health data:
  • Thermometers
  • Acoustic sensors
  • 6-D accelerometers
  • GPS

The thermometers are used for measuring body temperature and fever detection. The acoustic sensors track pulse, HRV, and respiration acquisition, while the 6-D accelerometers gather data on activity, calories burned, and posture calculation. Lastly, the GPS is used for location tracking.

Can multiple owners view their dogs’ profiles on their own phones?

Yes, multiple owners can access the same account and view their dog’s health data on their own phones. You can also add multiple dogs to the same account as long as each dog has their own collar.

Our Experience With PetPace Health 2.0 Smart Collar

With Nora transitioning into older adulthood, I’ve been having to make some changes to her lifestyle. Due to noticing some shifts in her behavior, eating habits, and energy, I’ve had to adjust her diet and include more low-impact activities for her daily exercise. With these significant changes, trying out the PetPace Health 2.0 smart collar couldn’t have happened at a more appropriate time.

Registering for an account and pairing the collar was fast and easy. The Quick Start Guide that was included with the collar was helpful and easy to follow, and it got us set up in no time. The collar started working right away, and Nora’s temperature and heart rate were recorded and displayed on the app within several minutes.

The app interface is user-friendly and well-organized, so it was easy to find the information I was looking for relatively quickly. Along with tracking Nora’s vitals, the collar recorded her behavioral information, including activity levels, posture, and sleep quality.

This collar is a little bulkier and heavier than regular collars, so it did take Nora a little extra time to get used to wearing it. She didn’t seem to mind it when she was active and going on walks. However, I noticed that she initially had a little trouble getting comfortable with nap and sleep times. Luckily, she was fine after a couple of days of wearing the collar.

It was fun and interesting to find out new information about Nora’s health that I wouldn’t have noticed without the collar. For example, I’m relieved to know that she’s getting good-quality sleep and that her pain score is at normal levels. I also liked how I could set up alerts and notifications for fevers and irregular heart rates.

After using this collar, I appreciate the peace of mind it gives me, knowing that it can help me detect abnormal or significant health issues quickly. I can continue to monitor Nora’s health and refer to a collection of data to find patterns or changes that may indicate a health issue.

Conclusion

The PetPace Health 2.0 smart collar is a high-tech dog collar with many invaluable features and capabilities. It may take your dog a little time to get used to wearing it, but it provides a convenient way to track your dog’s health. Due to how much it can do, I’d recommend this collar for older dogs or dogs diagnosed with a chronic health issue. Young and healthy dogs can still certainly benefit, but they’re not likely to utilize all or most of the collar’s features.

Overall, the PetPace Health 2.0 smart collar does a great job of helping dog owners understand their dog’s health better, and it’s an excellent tool to refer to in between routine vet check-ups. It’s a worthwhile investment that will keep track of your dog’s health so that you can focus more on being present and cherishing all the moments you share with your dog.

Our Final Verdict

We give PetCareRx a rating of 4.75 out of 5 stars.

Product Variety: 5/5
Affordability: 5/5
Ease of Use: 4/5
Customer Service: 5/5

PetCareRx is a retail website for dog and cat owners that has been popular in the pet product industry for over a quarter of a century. In addition to prescription medications, this online store provides virtually any dog- or cat-related product you can find in your local pet supply store. Their prices are comparable to other websites, and they offer lots of ways to save, making them a great value as well. Any pet parent will love purchasing from this site, especially if they have multiple pets that they find themselves shopping for often.

About PetCareRx

PatcareRX - Box w/ dogs

This New York-based company was founded in 1998 by Blake Brossman, a marketing expert who wanted to provide pet parents with a variety of products at a great value. Some of their inventory includes toys, treats, food, collars, leashes, crates, and grooming supplies. The pharmacy section of their website includes all the prescription medications you commonly find at your veterinarian’s office, and prescription diets as well.

PetCareRx’s founder Brossman was so intent on making sure dog and cat owners could get the products they needed at an affordable price, he even implemented a savings club at a low annual fee to give pet owners their items at wholesale prices and with no shipping charges.

The PetCareRx website is a great source of pet care products for any dog or cat owner in the United States, particularly those who own multiple animals and regularly need to shop for their supplies.

This company truly provides “one-stop shopping”, bringing together over-the-counter items with prescription products. Customers can trust the quality and customer service from this site, as they are accredited by the Better Business Bureau. In addition, there is no need to question the authenticity of the medications sold through their pharmacy, as PetCareRx has also been verified by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy, meaning all prescription drugs sold are EPA and FDA-approved. Customers can rest assured that there are no fraudulent medications being sold on this site. In addition to their own glowing credentials, PetCareRx was recently purchased by PetMed Express, another well-known and respected company in the online pet pharmacy industry.

Overview

PetCareRx website

Here is my overview of the PetCareRx website, the products available, and their company procedures:

Product Variety

The PetCareRx website offers a huge variety of products for dog and cat owners. Not only do they sell all the things you would usually find in a brick-and-mortar pet supply store, but they also have the same prescription medications your veterinarian carries, as well as prescription pet foods. Examples of some of the items you can find on their site are – cat litter, dog crates, toys, treats, pet shampoo, collars, leashes, prescription flea and heartworm medications, and all-natural flea and tick preventions. I was also pleased to find grooming clippers and slow feeders on their site. Basically, anything I searched for, they had, although some items were notated “out of stock”.

Product Authenticity

The PetCareRx website offers authentic brand items and prescription products. They are an American company that boasts an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, and a Trustpilot rating of over 4 stars. Most importantly, they have been certified by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy. This means the prescription products they sell are the same medications you find in your veterinarian’s office, which is extremely important to know as there are dishonest competitors on the internet selling fraudulent pet medications. PetCareRx’s NABP certification gives their customers peace of mind that the products they are purchasing for their pets are going to be effective and safe.

PetCareRx - product page on website

Website Navigation

I found the navigation of the PetCareRx website fairly straightforward. A large search bar at the top makes it easy to find anything you may be looking for. There are also filter options down the left side of the page to help you narrow down your search, although I found when I used this feature, items were occasionally omitted from the results that should have been included in my chosen parameters.

Prescription medications are labeled under their title with “RX Prescription Required”, though I feel this notation should be a bit larger and more prominent, just to avoid confusion before the customer gets to checkout. The price of each item is also not always clear right away. Most items I viewed had prices with slashes through them and indicated the final price would be available when viewed in the shopping cart, which was a little confusing.

During your first checkout experience, you will be prompted to create an account and enter all of your information, including your shipping address, veterinarian info, and payment method. Every page on the website has clear links to get help from customer service if you are experiencing any difficulties.

Cost Comparison

The prices of PetCareRx items are comparable to other major pet supply websites. I also compared some of their prescription flea and tick medications to other popular online sites, as well as my personal veterinarian’s online pharmacy, and found pricing to be similar across the board.

The greatest savings on the PetCareRx site appears to be with their PetPlus membership. This savings club has a myriad of benefits for an annual fee of $49.99, with some of the key features that make this membership so valuable being:

  • Unlimited free shipping

  • $5 monthly reward ($60 annual value)

  • Up to 40% savings on national brands

  • 24/7 access to virtual vet support ($130 value)

PetCareRx - coupon code and petplus savings program

Shipping

PetCareRx only ships to the United States and its territories. Free shipping is always provided for PetPlus members, and non-PetPlus customers get free shipping on all purchases over $48. Shipping is fast, typically arriving in 3-7 business days, but PetPlus members do get priority order processing, making the savings club another way to enjoy an improved user experience.

The PetCareRx website does note that prescription orders may take longer if a veterinarian’s approval is needed, as they cannot ship until they have this on file. To avoid shipping delays on these medications, I would recommend obtaining a prescription from your vet prior to purchase, as you can then provide this to the pharmacy yourself.

Returns

PetCareRx will gladly accept returns of most unused items within 30 days of purchase as long as they are still in “like new” condition. The website indicates that any unsatisfied customer should email or call customer service right away to begin the return process, then ship the item back, at the customer’s expense, for return processing. PetCareRx will only pay for return postage if the reason for return was an error on their part.

Due to health and safety concerns, certain products like vaccines, prescription medications, and prescription food can never be returned. Personalized items and items that have been used or damaged by the customer cannot be returned either.

Customer Service

Access to customer service on the PetCareRx website is prominently displayed in multiple locations. At the top of every page, you will see a “Need Help?” link. When you click this link, not only is the company’s customer service phone number displayed, but also buttons labeled “Contact Us”, “Live Chat”, and “Track Order”. In the bottom right corner of every page is a “CHAT” button with a puppy face logo. And if you scroll to the bottom of any page, there is a large block of contact info that displays a “LIVE CHAT” link, their hours of operation, their phone number and email address, and even their physical address in New York. PetCareRx is a very responsive company that seems to genuinely care about their customers. They even have a veterinarian, pharmacist, and pet nutritionist on staff to assist with any questions a pet parent may have about the products they’ve purchased.

In Summary

Pros
  • Huge variety of pet products

  • Prescription medications and foods

  • Competitive pricing

  • Further discount options with PetPlus club

  • Free shipping on orders over $48

  • Autoship Option

  • NABP certified pharmacy

  • A+ Better Business Bureau rating

  • Responsive customer service

  • On-staff veterinarian, pharmacist, and nutritionist

  • Free wellness articles on a variety of topics

  • Virtual vet support available with PetPlus membership

  • Local pharmacy pickup option at CVS/Caremark

Cons
  • Account needed for purchase

  • Final price of items not readily apparent until checkout

  • Many items labeled “out of stock”

  • RX indication on prescription products is not prominent

  • Shipping of medications may be delayed due to vet approval times

Authentic Products and Medications

PetCareRx is certified through the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy, and rated A+ by the Better Business Bureau, guaranteeing their customers that the products they purchase are authentic, safe, and effective. This is a top concern these days when so much shopping is done online instead of face-to-face, making it easy for unethical parties to sell fraudulent products. PetCareRx has operated with the utmost integrity for the last 26 years and has proven their value in the pet industry by offering the same quality products you can find in veterinarian offices and brick-and-mortar pet supply stores.

Variety of Available Products

It’s easy to buy pet products online these days, but not always from a single site. For example, one website will carry prescription medications, one website will sell only supplements, and another website may only carry pet food. Sites that provide one-stop shopping for pet parents are a top convenience, and PetCareRx fills that niche. By selling not only food and accessories but also prescription medications for dogs and cats, PetCareRx saves pet parents time and money.

Experts on Staff

PetCareRx is not just a team of pet lovers. They also employ a veterinarian, a pharmacist, and a veterinary nutritionist to consult with on product choices and customer questions, as well as to ensure pharmacy items are appropriate for the consumer. This not only improves the quality of the items offered for sale, but also contributes to the all-encompassing level of service offered by PetCareRx.

PetPlus Exclusive Membership Club

In 2014, founder and CEO Blake Brossman created the PetPlus savings club membership. For an annual fee of $49.99, customers enjoy wholesale pricing on the pet products they buy, as well as free shipping on every order. Members can also pick up certain medications from PetCareRx through their local CVS/Caremark. But another incredible perk of the PetPlus club is being able to call and talk to a veterinarian 24/7 for free.

Is PetCareRx a Good Value?

Shopping for everyday items on the PetCareRx website, as well as for necessary prescription medications, can result in great savings for the pet parent. Consumers utilizing this site are not only saving gas money they would need for trips to multiple pet supply stores and pharmacies, but also avoiding excessive shipping charges incurred by ordering from several different websites. For dog and cat owners that regularly buy supplies and/or medications, this site proves an extremely valuable resource, especially when the consumer joins the PetPlus exclusive membership club and can take advantage of all its added perks.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Are the pet medications sold by PetCareRx the same as the ones I buy at my vet’s office?

Yes! Every prescription medication purchased from the PetCareRx website is guaranteed to be authentic, safe, and effective, thanks to the company’s certification by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy, or NABP.

How quickly will I receive my order?

This depends on the item, but many orders will process and ship on the same day of purchase. Most shipping times are indicated to take between 3 and 7 business days. It is important to note, however, that processing times for prescription orders may take longer if there is not already a veterinarian’s prescription on file. RX items cannot ship until this is obtained, which may depend on how responsive your vet’s office is to the request. For this reason, I recommend the customer obtain their veterinarian’s written prescription prior to placing an order with PetCareRx.

Is PetCareRx a trustworthy company?

Absolutely! PetCareRx has been in business for 26 years and is headquartered in New York. They have been positively rated by Trustpilot as well as the Better Business Bureau, and were purchased last year by PetMed Express, another well-respected and long-standing business in the pet pharmacy market. Their customer service is also exemplary, and help from their staff is available even on the weekends.

Our Experience With PetCareRx

Several weeks ago, as it was heating up here in Florida, I began shopping for our spring and summer pet products. Since we spend a lot of time outside in warmer weather, dog shampoo was at the top of my list. I came across the PetCareRx website and saw that they carry a lot of pet products, so I did a search for dog shampoo. Several pages of shampoos appeared on my screen, but the first result was Tropiclean Maximum Strength Natural Flea and Tick Dog Shampoo.

Now, I have a cabinet full of prescription flea and tick medications, as well as our necessary monthly heartworm prevention tablets. But as someone that prefers natural products for myself and my pets, this product by Tropiclean caught my eye. While I would never risk skipping a month of heartworm prevention for any of my dogs, I was intrigued by the possibility that I might be able to lessen the amount of chemicals my dogs consume every month in the name of parasite control. If I could successfully prevent fleas and ticks on our pets by using an all-natural shampoo, we would all be happier.

The pricing of the shampoo seemed reasonable, so I added it to my cart and headed to checkout. There was a 25%-off discount code prominently featured on the banner of every page of the PetCareRx website, and I entered this in the appropriate box before checking out. The shipping cost was very reasonable, and I proceeded to create my account with all my required info as well as my payment method. In just a few days, the shampoo arrived in my mailbox, and I was ready to start bathing some dogs!

I studied the bottle and was pleased that the shampoo is indicated to kill fleas, ticks, larvae, and eggs. The natural pest control agents in the shampoo are pleasant-smelling oils, with a combined aroma similar to that of a citronella candle. I bathed my three dogs using the shampoo, and will continue to use this product weekly as recommended to repel fleas. I was also thrilled to see the notation of “Cruelty-Free” on the bottle – as a vegan, I am always happy to find products that do the least harm to both the environment and our planet’s animals!

While some situations do require prescription flea and tick medications (which I keep on hand), I will always prefer natural remedies and was therefore pleased that PetCareRx offers both. For my own future knowledge, I compared the pricing of one brand of prescription flea and tick medication on the PetCareRx site, a competitor’s website, and my own vet’s online pharmacy, and found PetCareRx’s cost to be comparable. Whatever your needs are for your pet, the PetCareRx website has you covered. I plan to shop on this site in the future, and will certainly be taking advantage of their PetPlus membership to make sure I’m getting all the possible savings.

Conclusion

The PetCareRx website is a great resource for every dog and cat parent. Not only do they stock all the usual products pet owners need to purchase, they also have a top-tier online pet pharmacy to make buying medications for our furry friends inexpensive and stress-free. With the additional benefits provided by their exclusive PetPlus membership – free shipping, product discounts, $5 monthly reward, and 24/7 vet support – there’s no reason to shop anywhere else.

TEEF for Life Dental Kit Review 2024: Our Expert’s Opinion

Our Final Verdict

We give TEEF for Life a rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars.

Effectiveness: 4.7/5
Ingredients: 5/5
Ease of Use: 5/5
Value: 4.7/5

Puppy breath is one thing, but no one likes stinky old dog breath. But the worst part about having a dog with horrible breath is the damage that you can’t smell. I’m talking about heart inflammation, immune suppression, and even behavioral issues.

Yes, poor oral hygiene can lead to all these problems and more in pets.

These are exactly the high stakes TEEF for Life had in mind when they set out to create an easier way to care for pets’ teeth. With their unique Protektin42 water additive, the company claims you can not only improve your dog or cat’s dental health but also their overall health. And all you have to do is add a tiny scoop of this powder to your pet’s water bowl once a day.

Sound too easy? That’s what I thought and why I wanted to put this product to the test. After using it for my senior dogs for over a month, I can tell you it’s not all hype.

Keep reading to find out how this product has helped my uber-stinky-breathed dogs and to see my full TEEF for Life review.

About TEEF for Life

TEEF for Life - unboxing products

TEEF for Life is a sister company to Daily Dental Health, a human oral hygiene company. Both were started by Dr. Emily Stein, a microbiologist who has been personally affected by the damaging effects of poor oral health.

In 2009, Dr. Stein’s grandmother suffered a stroke after a dental procedure. The bad bacteria in her mouth had gotten into her bloodstream during a tooth extraction and caused damage to her brain. Three years later, Dr. Stein adopted a Cocker Spaniel who suffered a blood infection due to severe periodontal disease.

Both these incidents convinced Dr. Stein to begin researching a better way to control the bacteria load living in both human and animal mouths. From there, she developed Protektin42, a powdered product that helps change the makeup of oral bacteria to reduce inflammation and plaque and support better overall health.

How Does Protektin42 Work?

The powder that makes up TEEF products is based on the concept of selective microbial metabolism regulation technology.

Basically, by saturating bacteria in soluble fiber and certain nutrients, you can turn off the genes that allow them to process carbohydrates and sugar. Because bad oral bacteria need these kinds of food to survive but good oral bacteria don’t, this nutrient bath effectively kills bad bacteria. This allows good bacteria to populate the mouth.

With consistent use, this kind of oral hygiene therapy has been proven to change the bacterial biome makeup of human and animal mouths. This leads to reduced biofilm, less plaque, less odor, and better health.

What Type of Pets Is TEEF for Life best suited for?

TEEF for Life has three different products available. The first is made specifically for dogs, the second is specifically for cats, and the third is suitable for dogs and cats. While each formula targets a specific species, they are all safe for all pets and humans to consume.

As far as which pets will benefit most from this product, the answer really is all of them!

It is much easier to prevent dental disease than fight it once it’s taken hold. This means TEEF products are most effective when started while pets are young, before they have issues. Of course, if your pet already suffers from periodontal disease, Protektin42 from TEEF for Life can help them too.

Here is an overview of Teef for Life’s Protektin42 products. We’ll look at the ingredients used in these formulas, what you’ll get, how to use them, and what to expect.

Ingredients

All three TEEF for LIfe products contain the same three base ingredients. Each ingredient is included to help shift the makeup of the oral bacterial biome.

  • Soluble Fiber – Prevents bacteria from consuming sugar which reduces the production of acid and plaque.

  • L-arginine – This amino acid changes how bacteria break down proteins to neutralize glycolytic acids.

  • Vitamin B6 – This nutrient is necessary for good bacteria to break down protein.

The dog-specific product also includes sodium bicarbonate (also known as baking soda). This compound helps neutralize acids in the mouth, control biofilm development, and remineralize teeth.

The cat-specific formula contains chlorella in place of sodium bicarbonate. This algae soaks up fungal toxins that are common in the mouths of cats suffering from stomatitis.

Neither of these compounds is used in the cat and dog formula. However, the three powerful base ingredients are enough to offer most of the same benefits.

What You’ll Receive

For your first purchase, you’ll want to buy the TEEF for Life Dental Kit. This kit includes pouches of the powder as well as a glass container with desiccant packet and scoop. You can opt for 30, 90, or 180 servings of Protektin42.

Once you receive your kit, pour the packet contents into the glass jar and place the desiccant packet inside. This will keep your powder safe and fresh.

After your first order, you can place additional refill orders for just the powder packets. You can also opt to subscribe to receive additional savings.

How to Use Protektin42

This product could not be easier to use. Simply add one scoop of the powder to your pet’s water bowl each day.

If your pet has multiple water bowls, TEEF for Life recommends filling a pitcher with filtered water and adding a few scoops of Protektin42 to it. Then fill each bowl with the pitcher for the next few days. You can also use the pitcher to top off the bowl between water changes.

Protektin42 can also be added to food. Though, it works best when it has a chance to coat your dog’s mouth multiple times per day.

What to Expect

The results from Protektin42 will be gradual, with noticeable milestones through its use and full results within about 5 weeks.

  • By Day 5 – The bacteria balance in the mouth will shift so more beneficial bacteria exist while bad bacteria begin to die off.

  • By Week 2 – You will notice your pet’s breath is starting to smell better.

  • By Week 3 – Redness and swelling of the gums will have decreased noticeably and continue to get better.

  • By Week 5 – Existing tartar will start to break down and teeth will look whiter.

  • After Week 5 – Continue using the product to maintain oral health and continue reversing periodontal disease symptoms and tartar buildup.

How well this product works depends largely on consistent use. The easiest way to do this is to ensure your pet drinks only from treated water bowls throughout the day. Wash and refresh these bowls once a day and don’t forget to add more powder each time.

Backed by Science

The ingredients used in Protektin42 have been highly researched and proven to improve oral health in both humans and animals. In fact, you can easily test the results for yourself by using a microbiome test before starting the product and again after a few weeks. You can check out the science behind this super powder, here.

Targets All Symptoms of Dental Disease

Not only does Protektin42 target stinky breath, but it also takes care of all those other damaging and unsightly symptoms of periodontal disease. It helps break down and remove tartar, eases inflammation, and, most importantly, destroys bad bacteria in the mouth.

This bacteria is responsible not only for damage to teeth and gums but also for damage inside your pet’s body. High bacterial loads in the mouth are associated with a higher incidence of cardiovascular disease, stroke, behavioral changes, kidney disease, blood infection, and more.1

So Easy to Use

Brushing pets’ teeth is at best time-consuming and at worst a wrestling match. TEEF for Life makes the process of dental care for pets so much simpler. Even if you can’t brush your dog or cat’s teeth, you can still help fight or prevent periodontal disease.

And all it takes is adding a tiny scoop of powder to their water dish once a day.

Is TEEF for Life a Good Value?

Compared to a doggy toothbrush and pet toothpaste, TEEF for Life Protektin42 will cost you a little more. But if you consider all the extra support this product offers compared to traditional pet oral care, I’d say it’s definitely worth the cost.

For a 30-day starter kit, you’ll pay about $28. You can save quite a bit of money per dose by opting for the 180-day kit and subscribing, which will save you an additional 5%.

Each refill packet, which contains 30 servings, costs about $24. But you can save up to 25% by getting 6 packets at a time and subscribing.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is the daily dose of Protektin42?

Each new kit comes with a dosing spoon that is 1/32 of a teaspoon in size. This amount can be mixed with up to half a gallon of water. It doesn’t take much Protektin42 to get results.

Are there any side effects of Protektin42?

In some animals that have a vitamin B6 deficiency, you may notice looser stools when you start this product. This should go away after a few days as the body adjusts to more normal B6 levels. Beyond this, there are no common side effects to this product.

What if my pet won’t drink the water after the product is added?

If your pet won’t drink water with Protektin42 added, lower the dose and try again. If they still refuse, you can add the product to their food, treats, or licky mat throughout the day instead. This is a rare occurrence, as most pets do not seem to notice the addition of the product in their water.

How long should I use TEEF for Life?

In order to maintain a healthy bacteria balance in the mouth, Protektin42 needs to be consumed daily. For best results, it should be used for life. You can start the product as soon as your puppy or kitten is weaned.

Why are there three different formulas?

Each formula is made to maximize the benefits for the targeted species. The sodium bicarbonate in the dog formula helps neutralize acids caused by the varied diet most dogs eat, while the chlorella in the cat formula is extra helpful for fighting cat stomatitis. Most cats and dogs can take either species-specific formula, while the cat and dog formula is best for pets with sensitive systems or kidney disease.

Our Experience With TEEF for Life

I’ve been searching for an easier way to care for my senior dogs’ teeth for years.

My thirteen-year-old Dalmatian mix, Ragz, has severe periodontal disease. She’s already had over half her teeth pulled. But a genetic predisposition to gum pockets makes it impossible to stay on top of her oral health even with daily brushing and water piking.

My fifteen-year-old Chihuahua, Papyrus, has less severe issues, but his Chihuahua teeth have gotten overrun with plaque and he has bad old man breath.

I decided to give TEEF for Life a try mostly because it looked so easy. I didn’t realize how it worked or even the extent to which dental disease can affect the body until after I started them on the product.

Once I began my research, I only became more convinced that Protektin42 is a necessary addition to my dogs’ daily routine.

I started adding the product to my pets’ water bowl about five weeks ago. Both my dogs and my cat use the water bowl. My cat is under a year old and has great dental health, so I chose to use the dog-specific product, though I know he still gets most of the benefits.

None of my pets had any reservations about drinking out of the water bowl after the Protektin42 was added. Which meant it truly was as easy as advertised to start this therapy.

After about fifteen days, I noticed Papyrus’ bad breath had improved quite a bit. After another week, the inflammation in Ragz’s mouth had noticeably decreased.

After five weeks on the product, we are just reaching the stage where the plaque is starting to respond. It hasn’t decreased yet, but it is noticeably softer. For the first time in months, I was able to scrape some of it off Papyrus’ molars with a dental hook.

Ragz’s breath has improved a little on Protektin42 but her severe issues are likely going to take longer to see really noticeable results. Despite this, I’m eager to keep her on the product. After researching how damaging bad oral bacteria can be for other bodily systems, I realized brushing is never going to be enough for her.

The only thing that’s going to prevent organ damage or worse is changing the biome balance in her mouth. And, as far as I can tell, TEEF for Life is one of the few products out there that has been proven to have a significant impact on bad bacteria in the mouth.

Reviews from other users have me very excited about the long-term possibilities of Protektin42. Once I get through the 90-day supply that came with my starter kit, I plan to sign up for the subscription and continue using the product for both dogs for the rest of their lives. Which hopefully, with Protektin42’s help, will be many more years to come.

Conclusion

Whether you have a brand new puppy with shiny white puppy teeth or an ancient feline battling stomatitis, I highly recommend getting them on TEEF for Life’s Protektin42 as soon as possible. This scientifically backed product does more than brushing ever will. It protects not just teeth, but your pet’s whole body thanks to its bacteria biome balancing abilities.

I’ve already seen results using the product on my two senior dogs and I’m hopeful it will continue to improve Ragz’s periodontal disease. It’s so easy to use and well worth the cost, I don’t see any reason not to make this part of every pet’s dental care routine. My only regret is that I didn’t find it sooner.
