WATCH: Heartwarming Moment Rescue Dog Falls In Love At First Sight With New Owner

An animal rescue captures the moment one of their rescue dogs meets their new forever family, and it’s nothing but heartwarming and beautiful.

The Sato Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing abused and abandoned dogs in Puerto Rico, shares the moment when Jasper, one of their rescue dog, finally meets his family at the airport.

On October 29, the animal rescue posted the video on Instagram with the caption, “Jasper knew exactly who he was meeting at the airport yesterday.”

The video shows Jasper immediately warming up to his new mom, giving her kisses and hugging her.

“Sometimes rescue dogs can tell who they’re going home with forever,” the Sato Project wrote.

The video has now garnered over 200,000 likes on Instagram and had Instagram users in tears over the heartwarming moment.

One user left a comment saying, “They choose us, it’s that simple. I would never have chosen a high energy dog, but he chose me. That loyalty makes me get up before dawn everyday. I’d have missed a thousand sunrises otherwise.”

Three Abandoned Dogs Chained In A Neglected Shelter Found And Rescued

The Pennsylvania SPCA (PSPCA) recently found and rescued three abandoned dogs after receiving a call from a police officer who found the dogs in a heartbreaking situation.

On October 25, the PSPCA shared the story of three dogs – Bam, Beau, and Brenda.

“Abandoned. Forgotten. Fighting for their lives,” that’s exactly how the animal shelter found these dogs before rescuing them.

“One week ago, we received a call from a Chester city police officer stating that he was with a property owner who had discovered three dogs tied up near their business,” PSPCA revealed on a Facebook post.

But when it was time to rescue them, PSPCA was not prepared for the situation that they found the dogs in.

“When our Animal Law Enforcement team arrived, the scene was more harrowing than we could have imagined. Tied up with chains to makeshift shelters, were Bam, Beau, and Brenda.”

The animal shelter explained that it was clear that the three dogs were not cared for and were abandoned for quite a while.

Describing the heartbreaking situation the dogs were in, PSPCA wrote, “All three were suffering from fly strike, while Bam and Beau were also emaciated and covered in pressure sores.”

“Their bowls were empty, and even the bowls themselves had been chewed on in search of any last morsel of food or water,” the animal shelter adds.

While all dogs were in terrible condition, PSPCA reveals that out of the three dogs, Bam was in the worst condition.

PSPCA explains that Bam scores 1/9 on the Purina Body Condition System. Scoring a 1/9 on this scale means a dog is too thin and his ribs, spine, pelvic bones, and almost all of his bones are evident from a distance.

On top of being severely malnourished, Bam also “had wounds on his ears and a very large, painful open sore on his hind end. He had fractured teeth and was severely anemic.”

Thankfully, PSPCA rushed Bam, along with Beau, to their hospital to receive the lifesaving care they desperately needed.

“They were both started on medications to treat their wounds and refeeding plans to slowly help them gain weight,” the animal shelter shares.

The animal shelter also shares that Brenda, who was thankfully in less critical condition, received medical treatment and care. “In fact, she may soon be available for adoption,” PSPCA adds.

Furthermore, PSPCA reveals to The Dodo that Beau recently moved to the shelter’s greenhouse, a space for adoptable animals.

Meanwhile, Bam remains in the shelter’s hospital, taking all the time he needs to fully recover and heal.

“With each day that passes, all three dogs are becoming stronger and learning to open their hearts up to people,” PSPCA wrote.

“They may have been forgotten in the past, but with us, they never will be.”

From Being Stranded In Canal To Getting The Best Life, Senior Dog’s Life Takes A 180 Degree Turn

The Arizona Humane Society (AHS) shares an “incredible story of resilience and survival” of a senior dog they rescued from a shopping cart in the middle of a canal back in June of this year.

The senior dog, a 10-year-old Chihuahua mix named Dorothea, was rescued on June 16 thanks to the joint effort of AHS and the Phoenix Fire Department.

“AHS Dispatchers were alerted to a dog in distress by a Good Samaritan who spotted her stuck in the middle of a canal laying on top of a shopping cart,” AHS wrote in a news release.

AHS explained, “By using a ladder and various AHS rescue devices to get her up to safety, the sweet senior pup was all tail wags when she was finally ashore.”

AHS also shared the video of Dorothea a few moments before she was rescued, which broke the hearts of many.

In the video, Dorothea can be seen on top of the shopping cart in the canal, looking dejected, like she lost all hope of ever getting rescued.

One Facebook user wrote, “Someone probably placed that sweet baby on there on purpose thinking it was funny and then couldn’t get him back. Poor baby.”

After her rescue, Dorothea received a medical assessment on AHS’ Pet Ambulance where they found that she is “dehydrated, hungry, covered in ticks and a bit stinky from the canal water.”

She also was immediately given food, water, and a much needed bath.

Furthermore, AHS shared that given the predicament they found her, she was in great health except for a few minor injuries, and some dental work for a few fractured teeth.

AHS reveals, “throughout her month of treatment at the shelter (including a spa day with AHS’ groomer) Dorothea was found to be a sweet, loving girl who enjoyed cuddles and attention from humans.”

After being found in a situation that the shelter described as having “little to no chance of survival”, Dorothea fully recovered, and is now living her best life with her forever family in Youngtown, Arizona.

Facebook users can’t help but be touched at how Dorothea took a 180 degree turn in life.

One user said, “Being older it makes me wonder if someone dumped her, I really hope not. Happy life beautiful Dorothea! You held onto hope and now have a beautiful life ahead.”

“That story warms my heart! Heroes one and all and thank you everyone for saving that sweet baby and happy new life to you sweet Dorothea,” another wrote.

Furthermore, AHS wrote, “Although it is unknown how long or why she was in the canal, Dorothea’s incredible story highlights the lifesaving work that the Arizona Humane Society is able to accomplish as it cares for almost 22,000 pets each year.”
