‘A Collab That Makes Sense’: Milk-Bone And Jif Team Up For Peanut Butter Dog Treats

Milk-Bone introduces their newest dog treats, the ‘Milk-Bone Peanut Buttery Bites’, in new Milk-Bone commercial – a collaboration between the dog treat brand and Jif Peanut Butter.

On September 26, the dog treat brand uploaded their brand new commercial, titled “A Collab That Makes Sense” to introduce the collaboration.

“Milk-Bone Peanut Buttery Bites is the collab you and your g’boy have been waiting for. Soft & Chewy. Peanut Buttery. Drool-worthy,” the description read.

The product is also said to be made with real Jif peanut butter and doesn’t contain any artificial flavors or fillers.

In the newest commercial, a woman can be seen holding dog bone-shaped and peanut butter-scented perfume with the label “Milk-Bone X Jif”.

The narration says, “Introducing a collab like no other collab that has collab-ed before. A collab so collaborative, it’s almost unimaginable that prior to this, they have not collaborated.”

As the woman continues to spray the perfume, she realizes how absurd the product collaboration is.

The narration then says, “Milk-Bone and Jif parfum… makes no sense at all” with the model throwing the bottle against a wall and pulling a bag of the ‘Milk-Bone Peanut Buttery Bites‘.

The dog statues then come to life and the woman proceeds to give the pooches the dog treats to enjoy.

Gail Hollander, chief marketing officer at The J.M. Smucker Co. tells The Drum, “Milk-Bone Soft & Chewy Peanut Buttery Bites give your furry best friend a convenient, delicious way to enjoy his human’s favorite Jif Peanut Butter.”

Furthermore, the commercial is only the tip of the iceberg! As The Drum reports that in addition to this commercial, the campaign will also include 15- and 30-second ads for TV and online platforms, influencer partnerships, and social media promotions.

Currently, the product is only available at Walmart. However, it will be available in major retailers across the country soon.

“A national TV buy expansion is planned for February 2025, coinciding with the product’s availability in major retailers across the country, including Walmart,” The Drum reports.

The Drum also reveals that the fragrance in the commercial is not currently available for purchase, but there is a possibility of it being released in the future.

Chinese Zoo Admits Its Pandas Are Just Painted Dogs

A zoo in China was forced to admit that its pandas were just painted dogs after one of the “pandas” started panting and barking.

Zoogoers at the Shanwei Zoo realized they were being scammed after one of the “pandas” started panting and barking, the New York Post wrote.

A video showed two Chow Chows, obviously painted black and white to appear as pandas, panting on a rock at their zoo enclosure.

This left the zoogoers outraged over the discovery. But the zoo initially tried to brush it off, claiming that the animals were a breed of “panda dogs”.

However, the zoo later admitted that the animals were indeed dogs, Chow Chows to be specific, painted with black and white dye to look like pandas.

Visitors have since demanded a refund from the zoo, which claims that it is home to “rare and exotic animals”.

However, the zoo denied that they tried to mislead people as they never claimed the dogs were pandas, reiterating that they were “panda dogs”.

This isn’t the first time a zoo in China was caught lying about fake animals. And this isn’t also the first time “panda dogs” went viral on social media, for all the wrong reasons, might we add.

A few months ago, another zoo, Taizhou Zoo, sparked fury for the same reason of dyeing Chow Chows to disguise them as pandas.

The Daily Mail reports that a zoo spokesperson for Taizhou Zoo said, “There are no panda bears at the zoo and we wanted to do this as a result.”

“A lot of people are coming to visit them and you need to queue up,” the spokesperson added.

Locals were quick to slam the zoo for their scam and accused them of animal cruelty for dyeing the dogs’ fur.

However, the spokesperson for the zoo explained their side regarding the animal cruelty accusations saying, “People also dye their hair. Natural dye can be used on dogs if they have long fur.”
